Nia Centre Alumni Exclusive Program
Nia Centre for the Arts, Design Cofounders and St. Stephen's Community House's Employment & Training Centre is proud to present the newest Creative Connect programming for early-career artists, The Business of Art (BOA) program.
The Business of Art is a professional development program for early career artists (18-29 years old) seeking professional development training and placement opportunities within creative industries. BOA combines in-class education with on the job training in the form of paid internships. This program focuses on building the skills that employers are looking for; teaching business readiness skills, portfolio development, workplace soft skills and pre-employment training.
Trainings and work placements are paid.
be an early career artist between the age of 18-29 years old
be out of school and out of work (less than 24hrs/week of work or school)
commit to actively participating in all 10 classes, Monday - Friday 10AM - 5PM
seeking workplace placement in a creative position related to existing skills and talent
be an AVNU collaborative student (ie. attended at least two 1-day programs from any of the programming partners)
April 11 - 22, 2016 (10AM - 5PM)
