Whitney French

Community Animator


Whitney French is a storyteller and a literacy advocate. She is a Nia Centre Alumni artist and is a certified arts educator who is a graduate of the Art of Facilitation training program. Whitney French has executed over 100 workshops in schools, community centres, prisons, group-homes and First Nations’ reserves. Her debut collection 3 Cities was self-published in April 2012. Whitney is also the founder and co-editor and of the nation-wide publication From the Root Zine. As Community Animator at Nia Centre, Whitney French seeks to reconnect with her community to artists and be a catalyst for change for black artists of all generations.
