Summer Job: Graphic Designer


Nia Centre is hiring for three summer positions! We invite you to work alongside our team in planning and implementing an amazing lineup of summer programming including youth camps, workshops, art projects and events!

This is a 8-week contract beginning on July 2 and ending on August 30, for 35/hours a week. The role is generously supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program.


  • Create promotional materials for programs and events including flyers and brochures.

  • Generate high-quality graphics and/or computer animations for various projects, such as websites, online magazines, advertisement materials, and videos.

  • Develop graphics for product illustrations, logos, and websites.

  • Select colors, images, text style, and layout to align with Nia Centre brand guidelines

  • Incorporate changes recommended by team members into the final design

  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them

  • Ensure compliance of Nia Centre branding throughout organization

  • Test designs for usability and quality


  • Adept in InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML and CSS

  • Strong creative, organizational, and time management skills

  • Understanding of principles of project management 

  • Receptive to feedback 

  • Detail-oriented self-starter

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills


To be eligible for these positions, applicants must be:

  • 15-30 years of age at the time of hiring

  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been granted under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations
