Summer Job: Marketing Coordinator


Nia Centre is hiring for three summer positions! We invite you to work alongside our team in planning and implementing an amazing lineup of summer programming including youth camps, workshops, art projects and events!

Join our team to help sustain and build our marketing efforts over the summer.

Summer Position ending on August 30, for 35/hours a week, generously supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Candidates must be available to work ASAP! 



Social Media Management

  • Manage the editorial calendar; develop original and curated content to promote programs, celebrate artists and engage with community.

  • Respond to comments, message and encourage engagement on social media. 

  • Develop and implement marketing and advertising campaigns.

  • Produce monthly report tracking campaign performance using analytic.

Strategic Communications and Media Relations

  • Write content for the newsletter and other publications.

  • Create promotional materials for programs, events and initiatives.

  • Develop strategies and materials to engage, recognize and inspire donors and partners.

  • Write press releases to promote programs, special events and initiatives.

  • Assist with planning and promoting special events.

Branding and design

  • Work closely with graphic designer to develop promotional assets.

  • Secure promotional materials for meetings communication materials.

  • Maintain photo bank and mailing lists.

  • Solicit and write testimonials, secure photos and quotes for storytelling.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with an eye for copyediting, visual formatting, and version control

  • Experience working with G Suite and MailChimp; WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite a plus

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in fast-paced, as well as ability to escalate issues appropriately

  • Ability to manage multiple, overlapping deadlines and communicate priorities clearly to management

  • Positive attitude and willingness to jump in when and where needed

  • A solution-oriented mindset

  • Curiosity – a desire to learn new things and engage in collaborative brainstorms


To be eligible for these positions, applicants must be:

  • 15-30 years of age at the time of hiring

  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been granted under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations
